NSTS recently welcomed a group of agents from Poland giving them a first-hand experience of what it’s like to learn English abroad whilst enjoying the sea, the sun and Malta’s amazing culture!
Straight away we invited the agents to experience one of the many free social activities offered to students, as the guests enjoyed an Orientation Walk around Sliema, allowing them to get familiar with useful information such as the closest banks, bus stops, restaurants, designer shops as well as the nearby attractions and scenic views of Valletta and the harbour.
The next morning our agents were treated to a free self-service continental buffet breakfast offered daily at NSTS Campus Residence. NSTS Campus Residence is popular with many of our students as the residence offers free internet access and is only a short walk away from the school and from the beach. The agents also visited sample Host Families to experience the type of accommodation offered to those students who prefer living with a local family.
The first day of school at NSTS English Language Institute in Gzira began with a Placement Test to join a class-group according to their knowledge of English as NSTS offers a variety of high quality English courses for learners of all levels, ranging from General English to Business English, and from summer programmes to Exam Preparation. After the agents were made familiar with the week’s programme of lessons and activities, they attended their first English lesson in a typical class of no more than 8 students with one of our highly experienced and qualified teachers.
The week was filled with a number of activities which make Malta the perfect location to learn English! First they visited the North of the island and its sandy beaches including the medieval town of Rabat and city of Mdina. They also visited the popular Sliema Promenade, Balluta Bay and Spinola Bay where they had the opportunity to try typical Maltese Cisk beer . For those who were interested in more night life, the agents could visit Paceville’s night scene with optional stops in the various clubs, bars and restaurants.
When students did not eat out at one of the great restaurants which Malta has to offer, the agents were able to buy food from the nearby supermarkets and cook their own meals in their kitchenette at NSTS Campus!
Throughout the following days the agents visited Vittoriosa, Senglea and Cospicua (known as “The Three Cities”) to learn all about Malta’s ancient maritime history as well as tour of Valletta. The agents could witness the breath-taking views of the lights over the Grand Harbour after visiting St John’s Co-Cathedral and the Grand Master’s Presidential Palace. They were also taken on a scenic country walk across the Maltese landscape and a picturesque Harbour Cruise around the Yacht Marina and the Grand Harbour.
At the end of their course, the NSTS Director of Studies presented the agents with the English Language Certificate of Attendance and of Merit given to all students studying at NSTS.
Thanks for visiting NSTS Malta! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did !
