1. THE MALTESE & HOSPITALITY
The Maltese are renowned for their hospitality, friendliness and generosity. The people are traditionally kind-hearted and will go out of their way to make guests feel at home. This characteristic is deep-rooted in Maltese culture and makes for a very warm and welcoming experience. Malta is a safe environment both for youth and adults.
2. OUR CLASS SIZES
At NSTS we keep our class sizes small to ensure increased student – teacher interaction and a more personal learning experience. For example Intensive English classes have an average of 6 and a maximum of 8 students and Business English classes have an average of 4 and a maximum of 6 students.
3. MALTA’S BEAUTIFUL BEACHES
Often a deciding factor for sun seekers is the potential for relaxed summer beach life and in that respect Malta doesn’t disappoint. Some of Malta’s best beaches are located along the Northern and Western shorelines of the island, most notably Mellieha Bay (the island’s largest beach), Golden Bay and Ghajn Tuffieha. How would one spot these beaches? You can either ask the locals, or if you’re more adventurous check out satellite imaging on Google Maps and find your way!
4. OUR MISSION STATEMENT
NSTS fosters intercultural lifestyle, learning and travel opportunities for students and young adults to create lifetime prospects for their holistic development in a multi – cultural society. 6. ALL-YEAR ROUND HOLIDAY DESTINATION
Unlike many other Mediterranean holiday destinations, Malta holidays offer you a lot of possibilities even outside off the high season. Outdoor activities such as biking or hiking are very popular during the rest of the year and many people flock to cultural and historical sites to learn more about Malta’s past and present whilst enjoying the country’s mild winter weather.
7. BECOME AN ENGLISH TEACHER
Besides our extensive range of English courses we have also developed a variety of teacher training courses to help you become qualified and teach English as a foreign language. The NSTS English Language Institute was the first school in Malta to be recognised as a Cambridge Exam Centre and international teacher training centre. We also cater for existing teachers with specifically designed learning materials.
8. SHORT DISTANCES
Travelling is a lot of fun, but long trips to get to the beach or to some interesting historical sites can ruin your precious few days abroad. Malta doesn’t require you to travel a lot to get to see interesting places, or just to go for a quick swim. Distances are short (it takes less than an hour to get from one side of the island to the other) and there isn’t another place in Europe that offers such a high concentration of places of interest, beaches, holiday resorts and places for entertainment – you’ll wish you’d have known about Malta earlier.
9. NSTS RESIDENCES
Both our own residences are perfect for your next trip to Malta. NSTS Campus Residence is located in Gzira, only a 10-minute walk from our school and with its own swimming pool it is highly recommended during the summer months. NSTS Hibernia Residence is right in the heart of the lively Sliema, a 10-minute walk from the beach. Both our residences have different room types. Choose from self – catering studios which are available at affordable rates or if you wish to keep your costs down even more then choose one of the shared rooms. We will provide you with free internet connectivity at both residences to ensure you stay up to date with everything.
10. SPORTS, LEISURE ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS
You can enjoy a variety of sports and other leisure activities in Malta including hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, scuba diving, para gliding and wind surfing, amongst others. Most materials needed for outdoor sports are available for rent at a low price and there are various locations on the islands where you can exercise. If you prefer just watching sports you won’t have to worry about missing any big football matches or other sports events. Most pubs (as well as dedicated sports bars) have a satellite dish perched on their roofs. Events, such as pop concerts and theatre shows, but also historical re-enactments such as In Guardiaare popular among tourists and provide great entertainment for the whole family.
